King Charles is known for working hard and it seems he takes his fitness seriously too.
The monarch is said to have a daily morning fitness regime of 12 minutes to stay fit and healthy.
According to Channel 5s Inside Windsor Castle, which is at 9pm tomorrow, Charles starts the day with push-ups, sit-ups, everything.
presenter Xand Van Tullekensaid Charles’ mother, the late Queen Elizabeth had a much more relaxed morning routine.
The late queen preferred a gentler start to her day, he said. Apparently a cuppa and a biccie or two was enough for her.
Prince Harry, meanwhile, revealed in his memoir Spare that every day his father pulled on his boxers to deal with back pain from his many years of playing polo.
The Duke of Sussex wrote that there was always the risk of walking into Charles with just a pair of augers, leaning against a door or hanging from a bar like a skilled acrobat at Balmoral if you accidentally opened the wrong door.
If you put a little finger on the knob, you will hear it asking from the other side: No! No! Do not open! Please God don’t open! He wrote
It is not known if the king, who is now 75 years old, still makes heads.
Last week it was announced that Charles had been given the go-ahead by doctors to return to public duties following his cancer diagnosis in February.
He and Queen Camilla paid a joint visit to a cancer center on Tuesday.
Officials said Her Majesty’s treatment program would continue, but doctors were sufficiently satisfied with the progress made so far that the King could now resume a range of public care duties.
Camilla has previously called Charles a workaholic and is known to work late into the night.
But the king has been told he has to make a lot of lifestyle changes to ensure he’s as healthy as possible, which includes the number of hours he spends at his desk.
His former press secretary, Julian Payne, spoke of Charles’ strict eating habits. He told The Times: The King does not dine; So an early lesson I learned when hitting the road with him was to eat a big breakfast or take a few snacks with you to keep you going.
The working day is quite unrelenting. Starting with radio news headlines and a breakfast of seasonal fruit and seed salad with tea.
His friends and former employees have also said that he always takes a break at 1:00 p.m., not for lunch, but for a walk and some fresh air.
Charles’ daily fitness routine is believed to be inspired by the 5BX plan of the Canadian Royal Air Forces.
The plan was originally designed to keep riders in shape and can be done wherever you are, without equipment.
Includes stretching, sit-ups, push-ups, stationary running and scissor jumps.
Charles, who served with the Royal Navy and the RAF, does his exercises twice a day.
Payne said Charles also eats extremely healthy organic foods and doesn’t drink much alcohol.
