Naturelo agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle claims that its magnesium supplements did not contain as much bioavailable magnesium as advertised on the supplement label.

The deal benefits consumers who purchased Naturelos 200-milligram magnesium chelate supplements between September 1, 2018 and February 28, 2024.

According to the false advertising class action lawsuit, Naturelos supplement capsules are not large enough to contain 200 milligrams of high-quality magnesium glycinate chelated magnesium in the bioavailable form that the body absorbs. The plaintiffs in the case argue that instead of this higher-quality form of magnesium, Naturelo uses lower-quality forms of magnesium, such as magnesium oxide.

Nature is a supplement brand that aims to provide clean supplements to consumers.

Naturelo has not admitted wrongdoing, but accepted the $1.5 million settlement to settle the false advertising class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members may receive up to $24.95 for a unit purchased without proof of purchase. Class members who can provide proof of purchase can receive up to $24.95 for each product purchased with no payment limit.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is May 28, 2024.

The settlement’s final approval hearing is scheduled for August 13, 2024.

To receive a settlement payment, class members must submit a valid claim form by May 28, 2024.
